MistakeKit — ANDROID privacy policy

Read how local study content, optional Firebase analytics, purchases, and privacy choices work on this platform.

Updated

Platform: Android · Original policy effective date: 2026-09-23

1. Study content stays on your device

Practice photos, edited images, generated PDFs, folders, review status, and preferences are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. We do not upload practice photos, PDFs, thumbnails, folder names, review status, typed text, file paths, or local database records for product analytics.

The app accesses only photos that you select or a camera output that you explicitly request. Android backup and device transfer are disabled for app data. Uninstalling the app removes its private data.

2. Optional product analytics

Optional analytics are off by default. You may choose to enable or disable this preference in the app. Declining does not affect capture, organization, PDF creation, printing, sharing, trial, or purchase.

Only after you explicitly choose to enable analytics, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to measure limited product interaction and reliability data. This includes app/build version, major Android version, device category, app language, paper preference, entitlement state, and controlled categories of feature interaction and processing outcomes. We do not send practice photos, PDFs, names, paths, typed content, exact dates, purchase tokens, raw errors, or stable IDs for folders, practice items, or PDFs as custom event fields.

We use analytics only to improve the product. Advertising ID collection, advertising personalization, cross-app tracking, and advertising data sharing are disabled. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings; the app then stops future collection and resets Firebase analytics data on the device.

Firebase also processes an app-instance identifier, session information and device details, and may derive an approximate region from the network connection. These SDK-managed data are separate from our limited custom event fields. Google describes its handling in Safeguarding your data.

3. Purchases

One-time purchases are processed by Google Play under Google’s own policies. The app does not store purchase tokens with study content or write them to ordinary logs. Purchase verification, when enabled for a released product, is limited to confirming the purchase entitlement.

4. Sharing and printing

A PDF is shared or printed only after you explicitly choose that action. The receiving app, Android print service, system photo picker, camera, and Google Play operate under their own privacy policies.

5. Your choices and contact

You can change the optional analytics preference in Settings at any time. Turning it off cannot retroactively erase data already received by the provider; provider-side data is handled under the provider’s privacy policy and our account configuration. 6. Updates

We will update this policy before making a material change to the categories of data collected, its purpose, providers, or tracking practices.
