Review sensitive details before sharing site photos

Understand solid redaction, original exports, GPS, and external copies.

Start with the destination

Before exporting, decide who needs the images and which details they need to see. Customer addresses, faces, access codes, documents, and vehicle plates can appear in the background of a site photo.

1. Inspect the whole frame

Check corners, reflective surfaces, notes on walls, and any paperwork. Zoom in rather than relying on a small preview. If a detail is not needed for the report, consider excluding the photo or using solid redaction.

2. Choose the right annotation

An arrow highlights a detail; it does not hide it. Blur can leave information recognizable, especially with short text or familiar patterns. Use solid redaction for sensitive details and inspect the exported result before sharing.

The app preserves the original photo. A marked-up export flattens the saved edits into a new image and removes source metadata. Exporting the original instead can reveal the unredacted content and its original metadata.

3. Check location and time

The PDF’s GPS and time switches control what is shown in that PDF. They do not remove metadata from the original photo stored in the app. Make a deliberate choice between a PDF, a marked-up image, and an original image.

4. Open the exported copy

Review the actual file you are about to send. Confirm that the redaction is visible and the correct version is selected. Use a non-sensitive sample when first learning the workflow.

5. Manage copies separately

Removing a record in the app cannot recall a shared PDF, delete a copy in someone’s inbox, or remove a photo already saved to your library. Manage those destinations separately and follow the recipient’s agreed handling process.
